Tower View Trench Heaters

Venturi UK have supplied, through their Danish heating systems supplier Meinertz, ultra slimline trench heating to a very high end residential project in St Katherines Dock overlooking the river Thames.
The slimline Convec trench was chosen due to it being only 59mm in height and due to limited floor void space was the only solution to meet the clients requirements. Had any other trench been used then a plinth would have been needed and the juliette balconies would have been higher spoiling the view. The apartments show the old and the new of London, as you can see both Tower Bridge and the Shard, through the inward opening bifold doors.
The convec floorline offers fan assisted heat (25dB) in a very slim space, ideal for under full height glazing working alongside under floor heating. Mechanical Engineer - Thornley & Lumb Mechanical Contractor - East West Connect Client - Hadley Homes

A Succesful Ecobuild

Venturi UK are happy to say that the recent EcoBuild show was a great success for our Steel and Bronze systems supplier Secco Sistemi.
We were really pleased with the quality of visitors to the stand and it gave us a real opportunity to showcase our products to a wider audience. On display were our Bronze triple glazed sliding door, our Bronze 3.7m high triple glazed double inward opening window, our NEW EBE Style product aimed at the Heritage market and our NEW 2.7m high centre pivot OS2 window. We were proud to welcome representatives from some of the worlds top architectural practices, Kohn Pederson Fox, Foster & Partners, David Chipperfield, Wilkinson Eyre, PLP, Rogers Stirk Harbour, Stanton Williams to name a few. Again, we got excellent feedback on the slim profiles and on the enormous sizes of opening elements we can achieve. We look forward to meeting our visitors again in the near future when hopefully we will be helping them in the design of their newest projects.

George Clarke’s seal of approval

Any of you who watch 'The Restoration Man' who saw the 2nd January episode will be forgiven for thinking this was a show about just the windows in this project. There was a lot of focus on the windows as, George Clarke, the architect and presenter tried to persuade the clients Ali and Matt Grey to choose steel windows for their renovation of a Victorian pumping station in Darnicle Hill, Cheshunt, Hertfordshire. The windows eventually chosen were from the OS2 range of our Italian systems supplier Secco Sistemi and were steel windows finished in a matt black paint finish.
Both clients and presenter were very happy with the end result and that is testament to a very good system and a very good fabricator and installer Wellington Glazing. The ultra slim thermally broken OS2 system is ideal for period buildings yet still provides U Values of around 1.5/1.6w/m2k. As well as being available in painted steel the system can come in stainless steel, Corten steel and Bronze.

OS2 Now available in Stainless Steel

OS2 was designed to meet the specific need to provide historical and monumental buildings with frames that were visibly similar to the old metal window. Today we extend its range from 6 to 36 profiles and add stainless steel to the current list of available materials: galvanized steel, corten steel and brass. OS2 comes with visible profiles of only 47 mm for the lateral section and 62 mm for the central section, all made with thermal break profiles from the technologically innovative Secco System.

Ecobuild, A Great Success

Venturi UK have been at Ecobuild this week with Secco Sistemi, our Italian steel and Brass window supplier.
The show was a great success and we had a lot of Architects on the stand who were very complimentary of the system. Everyone seemed to admire our 3.7m high Brass door in the EBE85 system and many were amazed by our OS2 thermally broken W40 Windows for their slim sight lines. We were proud to have had representatives of Foster + Partners, David Chipperfield Architects, Zaha Hadid and Urban Salon to name but a few. Why not ask us for a CPD or more details?

Trio of venturi products!

venturi UK have supplied products from three of our suppliers for one project in South West London. Through Architect Your Home in Richmond venturi UK supplied BiFolding doors, Sliding Sash Windows and Radiators. The two sets of BiFolding doors from Lacuna are 5 Panel/Blade BiFold doors for a 3.5m opening and are triple glazed with exceptional insulation. The White painted hardwood is fully FSC compliant. The top hung doors open up the rear of the property and allow the outside in. The client also needed some new sliding sash windows which were manufactured by our specialist carpenter and window manufacturer Horn Vinduer (Horn Windows). The modern sliding sash windows are double glazed and use a modern spring loaded system which allows double glazing to be used and no longer means ‘invasive surgery’ should the mechanism need any adjustment. Finally the whole house renovation needed all new heating and so the Architect specified from the Meinertz flat fronted range of radiators. Using both vertical and horizontal radiators allowed them to fit into discreet areas to keep valuable wall space for other furniture.
The architects are Architect Your Home and the builders are Argyll Building Services.
